Just enjoying some post-nerf Black Temple. Fun stuff.

I sold 8 classes this week, the most I've sold ever, made 175 in commission. Which is GREAT because y'know. I want a Corgi. And this will definitely get my closer to that goal.

BUT I may possibly not be a trainer much longer! Honestly, I don't make enough as a part time trainer. It's good pay, but not enough for me to be able to live as comfortably as I'd like. So I'm probably transferring back to Pet Care as lead until Adam goes back to school, and then I'll likely just have his job as Pet Care manager. Making a very decent amount of money.

I'll still be certified, so I may still teach some classes here and there. And if full time training position opens up I might hop over there. But I'd like to move up in the company, because Petsmart is GREAT. I've never loved a job this much, for this long. Anyway. That's what's up.

see what im doing is training at petsmart, and then getting an additional outside certification for training from the Animal Behavior College in CA. :P that way I can try finding a training job that isnt for a corporate company. Although my store manager wants to make me a support manager now e_e; which means I have no idea what to do! Do I stay or do I go?!?

yay we are both pet care leads, let us whine together about our associates :D!

are you doing both together? (lead and training) 'cause that is what I am doing...and the pay isn't bad at all, just not as fantastic as our full time trainer lol.

I have just started, but I'm not really enjoying it like I thought I would. I love teaching the classes. But I hate just about everything else. The politics, the store manager harassing me about selling classes while he sits in the office all day, even being given the total shit end of the deal by the full time trainer. It's giving me headaches (literally) and I'm not going through that stress again.

We actually have a support manager position open right now, but I do not like the idea of working stock at 4 am twice a week. No thanks.

For the most part I do a lot of pet lead stuff while training. I work in pet care at least once a week, I've been there longer and have way more experience than everyone else (but I've been working in pet stores and vet clinics for almost 5 years) so I get to do a lot of delegation, plus the joy of doing cycle count. yuck. But my training schedule keeps me from getting enough hours, and I'm still classified as a part time employee, and I really need to be full time. So to prevent me from resenting my job like I have in the past, I will just go back to where I am comfortable and happy.

lol ah, see I am a part time trainer, but im on for two full days: weds and sunday. and i work all over the store, i can be a cashier, do specialty, stock, train and bathe. we get to do cycle count this sunday, yay for overtime!! you should be full time, the only way i became lead in specialty was if they made me full time. i has bills to pay!

I've gotten to the point where the training department has lost me entirely. My store manager is a total fucking assrag, he is trying to ban my dog from the store permanently because he corrected another employee's dog and accidentally nicked his ear. Which is NOT P&;P so he can just suck it. He's a fucker, and he hates me, and I get stuck on the register ALL THE TIME while he sits in the office, but I get bitched at for not selling enough classes.

I'm so done. Pet Care Manager position is opening up very soon, and I'm by far the most qualified person they have for the job. I've already told the head trainer I'll be applying, so they can do whatever. I'm gonna finish out my classes and take my nice pay raise and awesome hours.
